Oil Level Sight Glass

The oil gauge is a device used on oil-using machinery to observe the existing oil volume. The normal oil volume should be between the upper and lower lines (limits) marked. If it reaches above the upper line, it means that the oil volume is too large and should be adjusted. For example, Below the line, the oil should be replenished in time. Otherwise, not only will the machine's functions not be able to function normally, but mechanical failure or even accidents will occur, and the service life of the machine will be shortened.

Breather Valve

The function of the ventilation valve is to exhaust air and is mainly used to balance the atmospheric pressure inside and outside the reducer. When the box is outdoors or running continuously, the temperature will become very high, and the lubricating oil inside the box will vaporize into gas and of course expand. In order not to damage the oil seal or joints, the blockage in the high position of the box should be replaced with a breather cap (also called an "exhaust plug") to ensure that the gas in the box is discharged when the box is running.

When the box is working in a high-temperature environment or the reducer is running for a long time, the internal gear meshing friction will also generate a lot of heat, and the high temperature can reach about 80°C. Part of the heat is transferred to the lubricating oil, and part of it is transferred to the air for heat dissipation. Since the inside of the box is a space with good sealing performance, when the lubricating oil and air heat and expand, the internal pressure increases and the external force on the box seal oil seal causes the box seal oil seal to fail, the box oil leaks or the motor is damaged through the motor oil seal. Seriously, due to excessive leakage of lubricating oil, effective lubrication cannot be guaranteed internally, resulting in dry grinding of the gear bearings in the box body, and excessive temperature rise causing the gear bearings to be discarded, seriously affecting the service life of the machine.

Before normal use, a vent cap needs to be installed at a high level to balance the internal and external pressures and avoid sealing oil seal failure caused by excessive internal pressure.

Breathing Filter Valve

The function of the air valve is to remove air accumulated in the pipeline.

The air valve is a special valve used to prevent the decompression wave from causing negative pressure in the pipe during transient processes. It is usually installed at a high point where the dynamic water pressure is low during normal operation of the pipeline, and liquid column separation may occur during transient flow. Air is sucked in when the pressure in the pipe is lower than atmospheric pressure, and air is discharged when the pressure in the pipe rises above atmospheric pressure. During the exhaust process, the valve can automatically close when the liquid in the pipe fills the pipe, preventing the liquid from leaking into the atmosphere.

The air valve is a respirator for pipelines and a guarantor of pipeline safety. It is also called a ventilation valve and an exhaust valve. However, it has an inhalation function, so it is more accurate to call it an air valve.
